Meeting

In the morning when I woke up, I recalled it was Tuesday, and I do have series of meetings lined up. My Sunday, I invested in finding the details, drafting the rough draft of what to talk and present in these meetings, sending agenda to the concerned people so that they knew in advance, what we were supposedly interact on.
I rushed to my office, to reach little early so that I can keep the things well organized as per my calendar. When I logged into my mail box, there I read the first mail from Mr.A stating his inconvenience to come and meet me. Well, his request to fix up the appointment on some other day, boggled my mind. I did not reply him immediately rather focused my mind to look into it after some time.
The mail was sent, not showing my bitterness but telling him, how important it was for me to meet him. What he has lost by not meeting so that he can get attracted and may ask for appointment from his end.
My second meeting which was scheduled at 10 am went on delaying, as the person with whom I was meeting was stuck into some other one. Well though the thing started bit late but it went on very well, as we both have prepared duly on the discussion point. Reaching to consensus was not a problem.
My final meeting which was planned post lunch was really an interesting one. The appointed person has sent his representative to discuss the agenda, which I had already detailed through a telephonic call. The person who has come to meet was completely blank. He was unaware of the background up on which our discussion was planned on. I had to detail him and then when he had enough of knowledge, his ultimate statement left me in fumes...
Statement: Sir, these things are not handled by me. Even If I have come to understand now, the decision would be taken by the person who had sent me here to interact with you. So, It is advisable if you can present all the details to the same person, rather involving any one.
Well, in corporate the meaning of meeting is changing. People come either to present their critical point of view which generally acts as a barrier and will not help you to proceed or may be, they are completely in ignorance. When the agenda is sent, they hardly go through the details and prepare themselves.
In these circumstances, I doubt the significance of meeting...
Let us value time and understand the significance of meeting and develop the proper skills required to attend or being the part of it.
